Thanks for making Culture Night so memorable!
Harpa would like to thank everyone who came to enjoy our Culture Night programme as well as all the wonderful artists who performed, together you made the day unforgettable.
On Reykjavík Culture Night last Saturday around 50 events were hosted in Harpa and outside at the newly opened Hörputorg square.
The number of guests in Harpa on the day was close to 16,000, which is a record number, in addition to all the visitors who enjoyed the outdoor programme at Hörputorg. Around 300 performers helped us in making the day great, including participants in our annual ‘Battle of the brass bands’, the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, acrobatic clowns, friendly trolls, gigantic flamingos and flying BMX cyclists, just to name a few.
And last, but certainly not least, Ragnhildur Gísladóttir and Halldór Gunnar struck the final chord in the festive programme by leading the crowd in Harpa in a sing-along chorus. Among those who joined in singing were the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband Björn Skúlason.
Now that the wonderful Menningarnótt (e: Reykjavík Culture Night) festivities are over, that means our exciting autumn programme has begun! You can find upcoming events here at harpa.is.
See you in Harpa!
